Here at Podere il Ginepro you will find organic oil, organic Chianti wine, organic honey, fruits, and vegetables. In short, everything you need to eat healthily and with pleasure.
If we're talking about our organic products from Tuscany, then we must start from our wine. Our farmhouse is located inside the Chianti area, therefore we've chosen to produce a red wine with specific features, relying on Sangiovese, Malvasia and Canaiolo, Trebbiano and Colorino grapes.
Grown on the hillside, the vines from our 1-hectare vineyard produce healthy, robust grapes that ripen under the glorious Chianti sun, resulting in a full-bodied, well-structured, and scentful wine.
We have more than 350 olive trees, but we know them one by one, because we take care of each one of them as if they were part of our family. Once ripened, our olives are harvested by hand, directly from the plant, and immediately sent to cold extraction, the most natural way of pressing olives.
This, along with Chianti's fertile land and generous sun, allows us to produce a tasty and strong extra virgin Tuscan olive oil, that manages to take the best out of every dish, but is also great to taste just with some bread, as it is.
Inside our vegetable garden, we grow typical fruits and vegetables from our land, in conformity with the strictest organic agriculture principles. We also invite our guests to take part, if desired, in the vegetable garden care, so to firsthand experience the joys and satisfactions (and struggles, we can't deny it!) of direct cultivation.
Fruits and vegetables from our garden are the same that you will find on our family's table, and are available for free to our guests, who can cook and eat them inside their apartments.
